v0 is an AI UI generator you use in the browser. Describe the page you want, or upload a design or screenshot, and it generates a UI you can preview right away. The code is usually based on React, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui. You can keep chatting to change it, then export it to your own project.

It's good at quickly making nice-looking prototypes: landing pages, dashboards, form pages, settings pages, and so on. Compared with tools like Cursor and Claude Code that work inside your local project, v0 is more like a "UI sketchpad," good for starting from scratch or exploring design directions.

Tips for beginners: when you move generated code into an existing project, check that the dependencies and components match your project. What it makes is mostly UI. Logic like data APIs, login, and permissions still has to be built separately.
