Dev Server

The dev server is like a rehearsal stage. It only runs on your own computer, so you can check the result anytime, but no one else can see it. After you run npm run dev, the terminal shows an address like localhost:5173 or localhost:3000. Open it in the browser to see the page.

It makes development much easier: the page updates automatically when you change code (hot reload), and errors show detailed info. But it isn't minified or optimized, so it can't be used as your real website. Close the terminal window and the server stops.

Common issues: if the port is taken, it switches to another port or shows an error. If the page won't open, check the terminal for errors first. Terminal errors and browser console errors are two different things, so when you send one to the AI, say which it is.
