In one task, let the AI edit several related files and show Diffs together, instead of pasting files back and forth in chat.

In detail

Multi-file edit (often Composer / Agent edit in Cursor) fits features that touch a component, types, and a test in one go. The AI opens several files in a turn and lists Diffs per file for you to accept.

It is stronger than single-file autocomplete and more controlled than a long unsupervised Agent. The risk is a larger blast radius—easier to miss a file. Still: plan or limit directories first, review every Diff, commit with Git before big swings.

Pair it with checkpoints—one bad batch can be reverted together.
