Cursor

Cursor is an AI code editor. Its interface is similar to VS Code, and many VS Code extensions work in it too. It builds AI into every part of writing code: autocomplete as you type, selecting some code and having the AI change it, describing what you want in the side chat panel, and an Agent mode that can read and write multiple files and run commands on its own.

A typical workflow: open the project folder, use @ in the chat to reference specific files or folders, describe what you want, then review the diff the AI proposes and accept or reject each change. Project-level conventions can go in rules files in the .cursor/rules folder.

Tips for beginners: point out the relevant files in the chat so the AI doesn't make changes all over the project, glance at the diff before accepting, and commit with Git before big changes.
