Iterative Prompting

Iterative prompting is like talking with a barber. They do a rough cut first, you look in the mirror, and then you say "a bit shorter on the sides" or "leave the bangs longer." Building a UI works the same way. It's hard to think through every detail at the start, so it's usually faster to get a version you can look at, then fix specific problems step by step.

The key is specific feedback each round. Instead of "it looks bad," say "the cards are too crowded, set the gap to 16px." Instead of "still not working," paste the new error or screenshot. Change only one or two things per round, so you can tell which change made the difference.

Know the limits too. If you've gone back and forth three or four rounds on the same problem and it's still not solved, the direction is usually wrong or the context has gotten messy. At that point, roll back, describe it a different way, or start a new conversation and explain it clearly from the top.
